newstead lund family vineyards, plettenberg bay
We come from two farming families. Our crest combines the roots of both – the lion of the Lund and the stag of the Robinsons.
We like to think that our journey and anybody else’s journey, is reflected in that of our grapes.
From the vine to the wine, there’s potential, growth, change, and ultimately, hopefully, something very special. And even then, there’s a sense of mystery and possibility, depending on when and how you enjoy it, and who with.
Doug and Sue Lund came from sugar & dairy farms in KwaZulu-Natal in 2006 to make wine in the Garden Route. They planted Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes and built their home and tasting room.
“Newstead Lund Family Vineyards is where we have made the wine and life that we love”
“Honesty, surprise, delight – that’s what we want from our wines, and from life”
We became the first producer outside of the traditional Western Cape winelands to be crowned overall winner of the Amorim Cap Classique Challenge, South Africa’s leading competition focussed exclusively on the country’s top Cap Classique sparkling wines. Newstead MCC Blanc de Blanc 2015 took a Double Gold Medal and Trophy for Best Blanc de Blanc, and was named the Top Scoring Cap Classique for 2020
“It is wonderful to be part of the Cap Classique association”
