Newstead Méthode Cap Classique Rosé 2017 was awarded 4½ Stars in South Africa Platter’s Wine Guide 2022. The 2015 and 2106 editions also received a 4½ Star rating in the Platters Wine Guide 2021 and held the top two places in the top 10 in South Africa. In the Tim Aitken South Africa Wine Review of 2020, Newstead Méthode Cap Classique Rosé 2016 earned Gold! And in the International Wine and Spirits Awards in London, 2019, our Rosé Cap Classique 2016 was awarded a silver medal with 91 points. At the Michelangelo International Wine and Spirits Competition in 2018, this sparkling Rosé 2015 earned a Gold medal! In 2014 we earned a Grand d’Or (Double Gold) for this sparkling wine, a feat for which we are extremely proud!
Newstead is home to SA’s Best Cap Classique
Newstead has been the recipient of some recent and rather well-deserved attention. Their Méthode Cap Classique Blanc de Blanc has won the coveted top spot in the recent Amorim Cap Classique Challenge. Think of it as the Oscars of the South African Cap Classique scene.
